When clarifying by low speed centrifugation you'll get a more coherent pellet by halving (or 1/4) the time and increasing rotor speed by the square root of two (or 2).
It makes little sense to pellet stable molecules (e.g. isometric viruses) at 5C. Pellet them at room temperature and reduce centrifugation time in proportion to reduced viscosity
