Antibody inhibition of LiCl treated PBCV
Antibody inhibition of LiCl treated PBCV
Lysin assays are in 75mM KOH, 100mM HEPES, 0.9% Triton X-100, 5mMCaCl2 at 45C. PBCV at 0.5mg/ml was brought to 1M in LiCl. After 15 min at 37C 25ul was mixed with 3.5 ml buffer+ Triton+ CaCl2. 4x0.8ml aliquots were withdrawn and various amounts of ammonium sulfate purified antibody were added.
Note that ab inhibition of LiCl treated PBCV resembles ab inhibition of untreated PBCV and not ab inhibition of WAL lysin. This is evidence that salt doesnt dissociate lysin from the virion.
