Know the library page

If you're anxious about the library -

1- Check out library anxiety on the library page
2- Do it early to avoid last minute panic - note - the 1st question can be done at your computer!
3- Don't be afraid to ask the reference librarian for help, but try to do as much as you can yourself.
4- If something on the assignment is confusing, e-mail me.

Even if you need no help consider talking to a reference librarian, you may (or may not) get good tips

For most problems - the answer's in sight. You've merely been distracted!

If you discover neat tips, e-mail them to me. I'll incorporate them into the page and give you extra credit.

For biographical reflections find interesting people
1- Some examples of people I find interesting
2- Famous people who graduated from UNL
3- Consider finding lists of people who are famous in you (potential) major field.
4- BioBase is especially useful if you've got a list of names
If you approach library assignments with a bad attitude -
1- Assignments will be difficult.
2- You'll be writing about dull people
3- You'll have a negative attitude about libraries
If you have a positive attitude -
1- You'll feel you really accomplished something
2- You'll discover at least one very interesting person
3- You'd be able to teach a graduate student how to do biography research (and leave them impressed)
