PBCV1 proteins - temperature series
PBCV1 proteins - temperature series

PBCV1 was heated at pH 6 (1% SDS) at various temperatures for 5 min and electrophoresed on an SDS gel. Note the capsid protein trimer at 50 and 60C which disappears at higher temperatures. Compare this with PBCV isolates where the capsid trimer persisted at 70C in one sample, but not in others (also see reattachment series). 70C appears to be in the "ambiguous zone" where the trimer persists at lower SDS/protein ratios, but dissociates at higher SDS/protein ratios. Note also that a couple of large proteins apparently degrade at 100C. Note also the small protein (second from the bottom) which increases with temperature. Could this be associated with the capsid protein trimer??
