Heat treatment of viruses from N. glauca (Bisbee, AZ)

Virus was heated for 20 min at indicated temperature (in 0.2M Na3citrate, pH 6.5)

Samples were minipurified and electrophoresed on SDS gels (silver stained).

Note that PVY is most heat sensitive and tobacco mild green mosaic is most heat resistant. Satellite TMV is intermediate.

A pure TMGMV culture was obtained by inoculating high temperature samples to C. quinoa and transferring a single lesion to tobacco.
